It only comes but once a year, but our annual Golf Day is always a highlight – and this year we were extremely lucky with the weather. Following a week of almost persistent rain, credit must go to the greenkeepers for ensuring the course was in a decent state for our event.
This year’s fundraiser was held on 15 September, with staff, suppliers and customers making up the 24 players.
As usual, we headed out to Crow Nest Park Golf Club in Brighouse – which is now slightly closer to home with our office move to Rastrick Common – and started the day with a brew and bacon butties.
Our individual winner for 2017 was Matty Robinson from Walker Filtration, one of our suppliers. As well as high praise, Matty claimed the S8 Samsung phone kindly donated by CommsProvider.
The winning team was made up of Pete Odell, Dave Greenacre, Andy Leedham and Chris Goodwin – Matty also won the nearest the pin with Pete Odell claiming the longest drive.
Back at the clubhouse, we tucked into steak pie, peas and chips, then it was time for the raffle and presentations.
Thanks go out to Atlas Copco for supplying the golf balls and trophies; the charity raffle prizes were donated by Parker Hannifin Ltd and Colin Rogers Garage Equipment Services.
This year, our Golf Day raised £260 for Overgate Hospice – a very worthy cause, which we’re proud to support.
