Mark up your diary, book your tickets and dust off your evening attire – the Halifax Courier Business Awards are almost upon us.
A popular annual fixture in the business calendar, the black-tie event will take place on Friday 16 November at The Venue in Barkisland.
The shortlists were announced in October, and we are thrilled to have been selected in a total of three categories: Business of the Year, Business in the Community and Employer of the Year. In the past, we have twice won the Employer of the Year category, awarded in recognition of the great working environment here at PPS.
Now in its 12th year, the event offers 13 different categories for local businesses to enter:
Green Champion, Independent Retailer of the Year, Business of the Year, Bar of the Year, New Business, Innovator of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Employer of the Year, Small to Medium Size Business, Business in the Community, Business Person of the Year, Manufacturing Award and a special Lifetime Achievement Award.
This year we are delighted to be sponsoring the entire award ceremony, as well as the Manufacturing Award, which we have sponsored for the past five years. As the main sponsor, we will be supporting this celebration of the achievements of enterprising and inspirational companies and individuals in the local area.
As a Calderdale-based business from day one, we are proud of our reputation within the area, from helping businesses reduce their energy bills and improve productivity, to supporting local charities and organisations such as Overgate Hospice, Tempus Novo, FC Halifax Town and Halifax Rugby League Football Club.
The evening will be hosted by the BBC television presenter Harry Gration, with entertainment provided by ‘Rat Pack’ singer Adie Doyle.
